Positive World Travel is a website, blog and community created by two fun-loving and inspiring Australians, Anthony Milotic and Elise Reeks.
Anthony, a former Chef, and Elise, a former Teacher, worked hard in their respective careers for years, saving their money to buy a house. Just when they were finally ready, they passed on the house and chose to invest that money in themselves, instead. They quit their jobs, sold their belongings and set out to travel the world. Out of interest in sharing their experiences, knowledge and diverse talents with the world along the way, Positive World Travel was born.
As Anthony and Elise explain on the site, they created Positive World Travel with a mission: “…to inspire others to take the leap to travel the world, to excite people as to the endless possibilities that this world lays before them, and finally to believe that they really can get out there and discover life outside their own.”
“Inspire. Excite. Believe.” is their community’s mantra. Anthony and Elise promote it through their words, photography and videos, and they demonstrate it through the actions they take in their own, everyday lives.
Why I Love Positive World Travel:
I first found Positive World Travel while I was still sitting in my cubicle back in San Diego, more than two years ago. I remember reading about Anthony and Elise’s experiences and watching the video on their About Page and thinking, “Wow, they just quit everything to travel the world – wouldn’t that be nice.”
Not too long after that, I came to the very simple realization: “Oh wait, I can too.”
In this way, I credit Anthony and Elise with being two of the first people to give me the inspiration for what I am doing now.
Their talents in photography and videography are well-recognized (not just by me) and have warranted more prominent featuring in their own, new project called Milotic Media (coming soon), which I am excited about.
Additionally, they are releasing a new series of guidebooks, and have started with one called “Two Wheels and Rice Fields – The Ultimate Guide to Motorbiking Vietnam,” which I am currently enjoying reading and planning on putting to use in the coming months.
