Video: Daily Commute to Karma Samten Ling Buddhist Monastery, Kathmandu, Nepal

Rachel and I are currently volunteering with i-to-i Volunteering, online teaching English at Karma Samten Ling Buddhist Monastery here in Kathmandu, try Nepal.  In addition to the teaching itself, recipe we love all the unique sights, sounds and experiences that we get to share in on our 45-minute commute each day. We put this little video together to help share this very special experience with all of you.

What a lovely little commute. I am still thinking back to my 1.5 hr commute to London each day in horror. So glad I left this behind. This voluntary placement looks really interesting. Do you need prior teaching experience? I bet monks are the best behaved students a teacher could wish for. 🙂

Thanks, Tammy! TEFL Certification is encouraged, but not required for this short-term type of placement. I will say that I'm glad I had taken the i-to-i TEFL courses, to be able to put together lesson plans for these little monks. It was a really great experience!
